Art Shows Galore!

Hey everyone!

So after taking a little break from shows since my 3 person show at Phone Booth Gallery, I’m back and with 3 shows!!  Well, the Adventure Time show has left us after it’s short lifespan at Gallery 1988 (WEST), but if you missed out on the show, the work is still available for purchase and viewing on their site.  As a shameless plug, here’s my piece from the show.

A little backstory of my piece.

I LOOOOOVE Adventure Time.  Lemme tell ya.  It took me a season or 2 in to realize what a unique treasure this show really is so I missed the boat early on but, hot damn is this show mathematical.  I did my piece on Magic Man partly because I figured 95% of the show would be dedicated to Finn and Jake (which is all fine and dandy) but I think the strength of the show lies with all of the smaller characters.  Magic Man is a really small character but he is one of my favorites for sure.  I remember when I saw the episode that introduced him like it was yesterday.  While watching the show as any normal person would, I remember my jaw literally dropping when he flipped that adorable little bird inside out and it sloppily bounced away.  It completely caught me off guard and I just about died laughing.  Call me sick and twisted, but I love a good rug pull and this got me pretty good.  He’s such a jerk and I love him for it.

So this piece is a poster I designed for his magic show at the Grand Hall of Wizardry.

Next up is the 30th Anniversary Show for Ghostbuster.  This piece was a challenge because I just couldn’t figure out what I wanted to do.  Well that’s a lie. I knew what I wanted to do, but I couldn’t narrow the style down.  I think I got it and I think you’ll like it!  It’s a traveling show and It’s kicking off in NY, then Chicago, then LA and finally down to SD for Comicon.  (are you going?  I am!  See you there!) Here’s more details about the show.  Check out the awesome debut prints from my pals Joshua Budich and Anthony Petrie!  These dudes are no joke.

Lastly Gallery 1988 is having their 10 year anniversary show this week.  I first heard of the gallery back in 2007 when they had their crazy 4 cult show and I’ve been hooked.  I always wanted to show with them and then one day I sent in a few pieces I made specifically to submit and behold, I was accepted not only to crazy 4 cult but a handful of other shows that year as well!  I was beside myself.  I had no experience with galleries and they invited me into their family.  I’ve met many of my close friends and favorite artists thanks to the gallery and I have to say it has changed my life and I owe a lot of my happiness to Jensen and Katie. (Thanks guys!) I’ve been so last minute with stuff lately because I’m trying to do it all with work, life and art shows but this 10 year show is a very personal show for me because I was such a fan first that I couldn’t not pay some respect to the gallery.

I chose 3 movies and did very minimal pieces that I’m pretty sure you’ll guess, because you’re smart. That’s all I can really say for now because I’m working off of 3 hours of sleep today.  Thanks for reading this if you made it this far.

Wrapping up the year with so much art!

Hey everyone!

I wanted to let you know that I put up my AP’s from the Native Tongue art show at Phone Booth Gallery.  With each order, I’ll even throw in a free mini print of your choice.  Just let me know in your shipping notes which one you’d like and I’ll do my best to make it happen!  You can check out detail shots and purchase the prints here.

Tonight is also the opening of a show that I’m super happy to be in.  It’s LTD. Gallery’s Star Wars show and it opens tonight in Seattle.  If you’re around the area, please check it out.  I’ve got some talented pals in the show as well, Aaron Jasinski, Nick Camparone and Jayson Weidel to name a few!

Tomorrow is the day that Crazy 4 Cult: NY again opens at Gallery 1988!  It’s going to be nuts and I’m super stoked to be able to be a part of it again for the 3rd time.  I made little greeting cards!!

If you can make it to any of these, please send me pictures because for once I’m bummed that I live in LA and can’t be in 3 places at once.  😦 but i’m happy to be involved!

Here’s a little write up that SlashFilm did for the C4C show as well.

Here’s the details for LTD. Gallery and the Star Wars show:

Art, Philippines and Black Friday stuffs

Damn, it’s been a minute, hasn’t it?

I hope you’re all doing fantastic! I have some announcements to make, but if you follow me on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, I’m sure you’ve already caught wind of it all.

First things first!

Tomorrow at midnight is your last chance to take part in my fund raising for Philippine relief.  I’m donating 100% of the sales from my shop to ShelterBox.  IF you’re unsure about what it is, please look at it.  It’s a really great concept and I’m more than happy to do what I can to help out.

On a similar note, my friends at Hero Complex Gallery are doing an exclusive print release to help the Philippines too.  Myself, Ruel Pascual, Roland Tamayo and Graham are proud to use our art for some good! Check out the prints here.

Another reminder that my art show is still up at Phone Booth Gallery till the beginning of December.  That was tons of fun!  Check out their blog here for some pics from the opening night!

LASTLY!!

I added my Jessica Rabbit print to my shop and if you also notice, I’m having a Black Friday MYSTERY TUBE SALE that’ll start Friday (11/29) at 10am and go till Sunday (12/1) at midnight.

4 random screen prints for $50!  With each order I’ll even throw in a Boba Fett or Joker mini ap print from my show.

Phew.  I hope you all have an amazing weekend.  Eat lots of food and tell your loved ones I say hi!

Happy birthday, Warhol and RED photos

Hey pals!

Sorry for the late update, but wanted to post pics from the RED show at Hero Complex Gallery last month.  It was a rad show with lots of fun work up there!  I’ve got some stuff in the works so I apologize if I’ve been M.I.A.  I went on a vacation to Mexico and DC for a couple of weeks and had such an amazing time escaping the madness of LA.  In DC I hung out with the always chipper Tracie Ching and her hubby.  It was super fun!  Now it’s back to the reality and stresses of my day to day life.

Also, in honor of Andy Warhol’s birthday, I have a couple of prints inspired by him on sale in my shop.  40% off at check out!  take a peep if he floats your boat.

Keep your eyes peeled for some fun things that I’ll be working on.

TTYL!

ReDiscovery // Los Angeles

Hey party people!

I was able to check out the ReDiscovery Daft Punk at show last night that Gauntlet Gallery kindly brought over to my neck of the woods (The Well).  I’m truly stoked to be part of this show and share walls with such amazing talent.

The room was hot, people were sweaty, the music was bumping and the drinks were flowing.  It all made for one memorable night.  It was really great to meet new people and hang out with friends who came out to see the work.  I FINALLY got to meet Luke of Gauntlet Gallery too!  We’ve shown in a handful of shows together at Gallery 1988 and I’m thrilled to see where he’s taken this gallery.  I left a handful of my Daft Kids buttons on the purchase table and was happy to see they were all taken and people were looking for more!  If you didn’t get any and want to buy some, you can here.

Make sure you check out the work on Gauntlet Gallery’s site!

See you July 5th for the RED show at Hero Complex Gallery!  See the post below for more details!

Daft Kids on sale now!

Hey everyone!

In honor of Random Access Memories being released, I’ve released a little print of my own! Many of you might’ve seen my teasers and buttons before, but here is the actual piece. I had a lot of fun with this one. I’ve been toying with the idea for a while and I was glad to finally put it on paper. I don’t illustrate a lot, so this was a breath of fresh air to do. You can purchase the prints here

All the prints come signed and are printed on watercolor paper. The ink is ultra chrome vivid magenta and is supposed to last for a 100 years. I’m glad these will outlive me.

If you haven’t listened to the album yet, please do so. It’s not the typical Daft Punk we’re all used to, but it’s still great nonetheless. It’s grown on me for sure. Happy Daft Punk day!

“Punch It” artist prints on sale now!

Hey everyone!

I don’t know if you’ve seen Star Trek: Into Darkness yet, but you HAVE to see it.  It’s pretty damn spectacular and I’m pretty sure you won’t be disappointed.  My AP’s are now available in my store in case you weren’t able to get one.  As always, thank you again for all of your support.  Some people are unaware of this, but majority of the money I make off of prints gets recycled back into my next piece and it allows me to experiment with other techniques.  So thanks for helping me stay inspired.

Click here to be directed to my shop or click on the corresponding image of the version you’d like to view.

Thanks!
